As a Military Historian, I´m currently working the First World War and the Portuguese presence in its African and European operational theaters, visible during the fateful years of 1914 - 1918. My main topics of interest are the Portuguese military healthcare system during the Great War and the internationalization of Portuguese Medicine during the 19th and 20th centuries.
From November 2012 to June 2020, I was an Integrated Researcher at Instituto de História Contemporânea (IHC FCSH/NOVA). In mid-2020, I became one of the researchers of "História, Territórios e Comunidades" (HTC FCSH/NOVA) and since 2024, I´m also one of the members of Grupo de História Militar / Centro de História (CH-ULisboa) and CINAV - Escola Naval, where I continue to persue my goals in Military History / Social History of Medicine.
